CONTROVERSY
Ankiti Bose, a co-founder of the Singapore-based fashion technology business Zilingo, has sued prominent investor and co-founder of pinstorm Mahesh Murthy for defamation, seeking $100 million in damages for what she claims were defamatory statements he made about her in an article he wrote for Outlook Business magazine. He published an article on March 1st in Outlook Business magazine, but he didn’t directly mention Miss Ankiti Bose by name; instead, he included a number of detailed hints. It referenced “one lady” who “ran a popular fashion portal and took Sequoia’s money” when discussing founders who stole money from their firms. Bose filed a defamation lawsuit against the publication at the Bombay High Court on April 20 as a result of the comments expressed in the article.

Bose said that Murthy had hurt her reputation, status in the public eye, and her name. Bose said in his piece for Outlook Business magazine that Murthy had made false and defamatory claims about her. She further asserted that Murthy published the piece on his Twitter and LinkedIn profiles as part of a personal vendetta against her. She has therefore requested 820 crores in damages.

Murthy asserted that his article, which was published in the Outlook Business Magazine, did not specifically mention Bose; rather, it was just a general viewpoint that did not reveal anything about her character. He also claimed that all of the accusations she made against him in a defamation lawsuit were false and fabricated.
PRAYER
She has prayed a permanent injunction preventing Murthy from publishing or writing anything derogatory about Bose. She has sought damages in the amount of $820 crore. In order to erase any negative writing, tweets, or articles that have been placed about her online.
