Notification about member shortage fake, NCLAT issues statement

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) New Delhi on August 9 issued a statement that the notification circulating on Whatsapp regarding member shortage was fake and should be ignored.

In the clarification, the registrar-In-Charge Kamal Sultanpuri has stated that it was brought to his notice that a notification dated August 8, 2022, was being circulated on WhatsApp groups claiming a shortage of members and that only urgent matters are to be taken up via video conferencing from August 10.

The Registrar said that no such order was approved by the President, NCLT and the same has not been uploaded on the NCLT website.

“The said Notification is not issued by NCLT and it is not authentic. The so-called Notification dated 08.08.2022 has not been approved by President NCLT (Competent Authority). The said Notification is to be ignored as not valid. It has not been uploaded on the NCLT website.”

“Kindly refer to NCLT Website i.e. http://www.nclt.gov.in for authentic information/notifications,” reads the statement by the registrar.
