Conclusion of court
Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat of the Karkadooma court, who is handling the riot cases, issued an order and a supplemental chargesheet was also submitted. The court further remarked, “Let a copy of the supplementary chargesheet be supplied to all the accused persons against proper acknowledgement,” during last week’s hearing. Counsels who are not present today may pick up their set of copies from Ahmad on any day before the next hearing date in exchange for proper recognition.
The court set the next hearing on July 14 after noting the attendance of all those accused and taking into account two of them, Devangana Kalita and Safoora Zargar, who had requested to be excused from personal appearance for that day. On the day of the next hearing, it was mandated that all of the accused be physically brought before the court from judicial custody.
