The Gujarat High Court announced on Friday that it would prioritise hearing at least three to four of the 137 cases that have been pending before it for the past 40 to 50 years beginning next week.
A Division Bench of Chief Justice Aravind Kumar and Justice Ashutosh J Shastri said,
“There are some 137 cases that are pending before this Court from last 40 to 50 years. We will give priority to such cases now. We believe that if these cases are not heard and disposed of in time, then the public would lose faith and trust in the judiciary.”
