Introduction:

In a recent development, the Aluva Magistrate Court has directed an investigation into a complaint filed by YouTuber Unnikrishnan, known for his movie review channel ‘Unni’s Vlog Cinephile’. Unnikrishnan has accused movie director Anish Anwar, behind the film “Raasta”, of hurling casteist abuses and issuing threats after a review of the said movie. The petitioner alleges that the police initially failed to register the complaint, prompting him to file a private complaint before the Magistrate.

Unnikrishnan contends that Anish Anwar verbally abused him based on his caste and issued threats following the movie review. The petitioner initially approached the Elamakkara Police Station on January 6th, and upon realizing that the complaint was not registered, he filed a private complaint before the Magistrate.
